Wow!

Talk about lucky coincidences! This morning I was in a Nanaimo state of mind, and remembered that it was 20 years ago this year that we all left NDSS for the bigger world out there. Then I thought about the possibility of a reunion. A Google search later, and here I am writing to you. Weird eh?

Let me just update you a little on my life now. In 1988 I moved to Japan to study Japanese. I quickly found work as an English teacher, and that quickly turned into a career. So I'm still here, teaching at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Beppu. Great school, great students, great location - there are hotsprings all over the place.
It's paradise.

I married my great wife Noriko in 1994, and we've got 2 kids, boy and girl. Currently I'm thinking about a career change into film or theatre, which is closer to my roots. Remember Oklahoma! and Jesus Christ Superstar? They were the high points of my time at NDSS. In fact there wasn't much that wasn't great about 1983-84. As Bryan Adams put it, "those were the best days of my life".

I SOOOOOOOO wish I could be there for the festivities. Please pass on my warmest feelings to all the grads. And thank you reunion committee folks, for putting this thing together. You're the best.

With love and happy memories,

George Hann

P.S.   I got over that Ninja thing. Really ! Living in Japan is JUST a coincidence HONEST!!
